New York (United Nations) - El Salvador reaffirmed, in New York, its support for Morocco's efforts aimed at achieving a realistic, pragmatic and lasting political solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara. Speaking Monday before the members of the 4th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, the representative of El Salvador to the UN welcomed the autonomy initiative presented by Morocco, which the Security Council deems credible and serious in its resolutions adopted since 2007. The diplomat also commended the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Sahara to facilitate the political process led under the exclusive aegis of the United Nations Secretary-General.
