Rabat - Istiqlal Party's (PI) Mohamed Ould Errachid has been officially elected Speaker of the House of Councilors for the second half of the 2021-2027 legislature. The election was held in a plenary session of the Moroccan upper house on Saturday. The session was chaired by Mahmoud Archane, president of the Provisional Bureau of the House of Councilors, in accordance with Article 63 of the Constitution. Sole candidate of the government majority, Ould Errachid received 94 votes out of 104 cast, while 10 ballots were annulled. Source: Agence Marocaine De Presse
