United Nations (New York) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Affairs, Trade, and Energy of the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Gareth Guadalupe, reiterated, on Tuesday in New York, his country's constant position in favor of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara and the Kingdom's territorial integrity. In the communiqué, the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe reaffirms its support for Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara. It also reiterates its support for the Autonomy Initiative, presented by the Kingdom in 2007, as the only credible, serious, and realistic solution to settle the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara. In this respect, Gareth Guadalupe welcomed the efforts of the United Nations as an exclusive framework to achieve a realistic, practical, and lasting solution to this regional dispute.
