Cassava Technologies' fintech Sasai Money has partnered with Airtel Money to offer free money transfers between several African countries. Launched in Zimbabwe in May 2023, the service now allows users in the UK and South Africa to send funds to Uganda without fees. The initiative will soon expand to Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Zambia, aiming to revolutionise remittances in Africa and reduce reliance on costly and risky informal channels.
