Professor Aboagye Dacosta, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has challenged Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to demonstrate his commitment to his policies ahead of the 2024 elections. In an interview with Oyerepa TV on August 22, 2024, Prof. Dacosta emphasized that Dr. Bawumia should take decisive action to showcase his capabilities as vice president. Prof. Dacosta highlighted illegal mining, or galamsey, in Konongo as an example of pressing concerns that need immediate attention. He criticized Dr. Bawumia and his advisors for not addressing these problems more effectively. "You are claiming that you will do this and that but are still in the park; so why don't you score the goal? Do something to convince me that you will do this. At least you have three months and nothing is being done,' he said. The lecturer also pointed out that the current handling of Dr. Bawumia's political strategies is problematic. "Those who are h andling him are not doing a good job. Hon. Alidu and others, you people don't give him good advice. Begin to show something now that will prove that you will be able to do it," he added. Source: Ghana Web
