The Sahel regional football league organized in Dori, on Friday August 24, 2024, a general assembly with a view to electing the members of the executive office responsible for presiding over the destiny of regional football for the period 2024- 2028. This election made it possible to set up an executive office of 13 members, including 2 women, chaired by Mr. Souleymane Ouédraogo. This team, according to Mr. Souleymane Ouédraogo, intends to address four major challenges facing regional football during its mandate. It is, first of all, the resolution of the thorny issue of the crucial lack of sports infrastructure in the region in general, and in the town of Dori in particular, which only has one football field. . The second axis of his office's action is to strengthen the technical capacities of club stakeholders and the refereeing body, in order to improve the governance of clubs in the region, declared the new president of the executive office of the regional league of Sahel. Thirdly, Souleymane Ouédrao go and his team intend to restore the image of regional football through a good mobilization of human and financial resources for the benefit of this sport, he added. To achieve these objectives, the team intends to make communication and transparency its main focus, under the supervision of the provincial and regional sports directorates, concluded Mr. Ouédraogo. It should be noted that Mr. Souleymane Ouédraogo replaces Mr. Cissé Boubacar Hama in this position, to whom he paid tribute for the actions he carried out in favor of the promotion of regional football.
