CHICAGO, August 20. /TASS/. US President Joe Biden says only the United States can be a world leader. 'Who can rule the world except the United States? ', he said Monday. 'The United States is winning, and that's good for the world,' noted Joe Biden during the national convention of the Democratic Party in Chicago. The American head of state recalled that the Republican candidate for the presidency, Donald Trump, 'qualifies the United States as a country which is suffering a failure'. 'Think about the message he sends to the world when he talks about the United States as a country that is failing,' said the country's president. 'He [Donald Trump] says we are losing. He himself is a loser! And he's completely wrong,' Joe Biden said. According to him, 'the United States is safer and more prosperous today than under Donald Trump', who already served as president from 2017 to 2021. 'Donald Trump continues to lie about crime in the United States, like he does on everything else,' said Joe Biden. He said his ad ministration's efforts have seen violent crime in the United States "fall to its lowest level in more than half a century." 'And crime will continue to fall when we put a former prosecutor, not a convicted felon, in the Oval Office of the White House,' he said. The US head of state referred to the fact that Democratic candidate Kamala Harris was a former prosecutor and that Donald Trump was convicted by a jury in the spring, becoming the first former US president to be convicted of manipulating the documents accountants of his business empire.
