Rabat - Elements of the Royal Armed Forces intercepted 186 sub-Saharan migrants attempting to reach the Canary Islands on Tuesday, after their canoe ran aground approximately 30 kilometers south of Bir Ganduz, says a FAR statement on Tuesday. The migrants, who were en route to the Canary Islands in an attempt at irregular migration, were spotted by the coastal surveillance units. Following the interception, they were provided with necessary care and medical attention before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the standard administrative procedures.
