Madrid - Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco is a "modern and prosperous state", according to Constitutional Law Professor at Sevilla's Pablo de Olavide University Héctor Álvarez García. The progress made by the Kingdom is the outcome of "a policy of reforms aimed at consolidating democracy and guaranteeing human rights and the well-being of citizens", added the Spanish academic in an article published on the La Razon newspaper. Álvarez García placed particular emphasis on the Kingdom's diplomatic action, underlining the international community's "broad support" for the Moroccan autonomy plan for the Sahara, being the only "serious, realistic and credible" solution for putting an end to this conflict in the context of Morocco's territorial integrity. He also highlighted the Kingdom's "exceptional contribution" to peace and security in Africa and Europe, thanks to its "soft power". In the same vein, the Spanish academic noted that the Sovereign has launched a comprehensive program me of social and democratic reforms, stressing that the progress made in the Kingdom involves several economic and social areas.
