Rabat - The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency has published a book written by the Director in Charge of its Management, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, entitled 'His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee: a major responsibility,' to mark the 25th anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the Throne of His glorious ancestors. In a presentation note received by MAP, it is stated that this work, published by the 'Bayt Al-Maqdis' Center for Research and Studies in 2024, is 167 pages long in medium format and 'brings together useful data and a relevant historical account of the efforts of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty the King, to support the Palestinian cause and defend the Holy City, through the conjunction of political and diplomatic channels as well as humanitarian and field channels.' This special issue is divided into seven chapters and a special documentary appendix on the agency's presence in the speeches and messages of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the reports of the Al -Quds Committee chaired by the Sovereign at Islamic summits, and the projects and programs implemented in Al-Quds between 2000 and 2022. In the book's introduction, Salem Cherkaoui highlighted that the chairmanship of the Al-Quds Committee entrusted to His Majesty the King is a symbolic tribute to the ties linking Moroccans with Al-Quds and Palestine, and a recognition of the honorable history of the Moroccan nation. 'The Moroccans of Bayt Al-Maqdis are first and foremost Palestinians, loyal to this land that welcomed them as scholars, pilgrims and students. As for the Moroccans of the generations of independence, the victorious Green March and the new era, they continue to faithfully adhere to the values of sincere and renewed solidarity with our brothers in Palestine,' he noted. In addition, His Majesty the King strives to translate this 'major responsibility' into quality initiatives, both politically and diplomatically, thanks to the valued roles of Moroccan diplomacy in supporting the Palestinian posi tion on all stages, and socially and on the ground, through the direct supervision of the work of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, by the Sovereign, the book's author added. The Committee's work is based on a realistic approach combining two complementary paths: the political path, based on the efforts of Moroccan diplomacy, and the path on the ground through the roles of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, he continued. These two paths come together to realize the sincere royal will to increase hope among generations of Palestinians for a better future, through clear and constructive political and legal advocacy, alongside efforts to stabilize the population on its land, Cherkaoui concluded.
