Panama City - The Kingdom of Morocco, under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is positioning itself as "a key partner" for South American and Caribbean countries in Africa, emphasized former Panamanian Foreign Minister Janaina Tewaney Mencomo. 'The significant progress achieved in economic and social fields has made Morocco a leading player on the African continent and a key partner for South American countries,' Mencomo stated in a statement to MAP on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day. The modernist Royal Vision and the multidimensional development strategy deployed by Morocco under the Sovereign's impetus have allowed the Kingdom to strengthen its stature on both regional and international levels, she said. The former Panamanian foreign minister recalled that His Majesty the King's historic tour of several countries in the region in 2004 "opened promising prospects for cooperation and partnership between the two parties, within the framework of a fruitful and mutually benefi cial South-South relationship." She also specified that His Majesty the King's Atlantic Initiative illustrates the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening transatlantic relations between Africa and Latin America, which offer countless resources and opportunities. Mencomo noted that the strategic position of her country in the Caribbean offers promising partnership prospects with Morocco, which is positioning itself as a gateway between Latin America, Africa, Europe, and other regions of the world.
