Rabat - In a recent meeting between Moroccan and Zambian officials, Morocco's Enaam Mayara, Speaker of the House of Councilors, reaffirmed the commitment of his chamber to bolster cooperation between the two nations. The discussions, which took place during a visit by a delegation from Zambia's National Assembly, centered on strengthening ties across various sectors. The Moroccan top senator underscored the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic and commercial endeavors, citing untapped potential that falls short of mutual aspirations. The historic visit of HM King Mohammed VI to Zambia in 2017 was hailed as a milestone, fostering a partnership model across multiple levels. The visit also highlighted Zambia's steadfast support for Morocco's national interests, notably its territorial integrity. Mayara commended Zambia's principled stance on these matters. Echoing sentiments of collaboration, Kasautu Michelo, leading the Zambian delegation, expressed eagerness to draw from M orocco's experiences in climate change mitigation and sustainable development initiatives. In this regard, he lauded Morocco's agricultural achievements and resilience in the face of climatic challenges, urging African nations to unite in advocating for climate-related issues and enacting legislation to ensure environmental sustainability. The meeting served as a platform for sharing concerns and visions on climate change, with both parties emphasizing the urgency of continental cooperation to shield Africa from the ravages of climate change and safeguard the rights of future generations.
