The musical ensemble Le Levain launches its new album entitled Teebo

The musical ensemble Le Levain presented its very first album of 10 tracks, entitled Teebo ou espoir, on Friday in Ouagadougou. 'Music is present and necessary at all stages of life. Le Levain carries the philosophy of maintaining orchestral practice to allow us to grasp the beauty and goodness of music,' says Maximilien Aristide Somé, conductor of the musical ensemble Le Levain. According to him, orchestral music offers music lovers the opportunity to fully appreciate the benefits of music. Mr. Somé spoke on Friday in Ouagadougou, during the official release of the first album by the musical ensemble Le Levain. Named Teebo, which means 'hope' in the national Mooré language, this 10-track album is made up of 5 religious songs and 5 others. "These works are a rhythmic bridge between the traditional and the modern," emphasizes the group's conductor. The various titles, sung in Mooré, Dioula, Gourmatchéma and in French, address themes such as faith, pride in being Burkinabè as well as the ills that undermi ne society, such as unemployment and immigration. The album, available on USB, is sold at a unit price of 5,000 CFA francs. Music lovers present at the signing attended a live performance by the orchestra. The musical ensemble Le Levain, made up of around thirty singers and instrumentalists, is behind the Gounghin Live Music Festival (FEMULIG), which is held every year. The group was created in 2020 by singers and instrumentalists from the French-speaking Saint-Paul choir of the Saint-Pierre de Gounghin parish. Since then, the members have performed live at various events across the country. As a reminder, the musical ensemble Le Levain was a winner in the 'orchestra' category of the Grand Prix national des Arts et des Lettres at the 20th edition of the Semaine nationale de la Culture (SNC) in 2023.
