Sokoto: The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on Nigerian leaders to unite and commit themselves to addressing the pressing challenges facing the country.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Sultan delivered his Eid-el-Kabir message in Sokoto, highlighting that genuine unity and dedication among leaders are essential for finding lasting solutions to national problems. He emphasized that insecurity remains a significant concern in Sokoto and other parts of Northern Nigeria. While acknowledging the efforts of security agencies, the Sultan stressed the need for more comprehensive strategies to ensure long-term peace and stability.

The Sultan extended his condolences to the government and people of Niger following a recent flood disaster that resulted in several casualties. He urged Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to offer continuous prayers for the nation and prayed to Almighty Allah to accept their acts of worship.

Abubakar encouraged Nigerians to embrace positive changes in their attitudes, expressing optimism about the country’s future. He urged all citizens to remain God-fearing in their conduct. The Sultan also commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for implementing policies and programs that directly impact the lives of citizens.

The Sultan concluded by wishing all Muslims peaceful and joyous Sallah celebrations, praying that Allah accepts their sacrifices.
