State House Perm Sec Urges Staff to Enhance Service Delivery

Abuja: The Permanent Secretary of the State House, Mr. Temitope Fashedemi, has called on staff members to recommit themselves to professionalism and efficient service delivery, aligning with the ongoing civil service reforms. He emphasized the importance of these values following the signing of a Performance Contract with Directors at the conclusion of the three-day 2025 Management and Ministerial Performance Management System Retreat.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the retreat, themed 'Building a Responsive and High Performance Workforce through Innovation and Teamwork', was organized by the State House Management. This initiative aims to strengthen accountability within the workforce. Fashedemi highlighted that the contract serves as a binding commitment, clearly defining expectations and responsibilities across different directorates.

"This is part of the reforms that are ongoing in the Federal Civil Service. Eventually, it will cascade into the larger public service," Fashedemi stated. He emphasized the State House's role in ensuring that performance is measured, noting that staff, from directors to lower cadres, have specific targets to meet.

He further explained that the training during the retreat was designed to familiarize staff with the Performance Management System, facilitating its implementation. "At the end of the agreed period, they will reconvene to assess the achievements of each task," he added.

Fashedemi described the contract as a solemn pledge in line with President Bola Tinubu's vision for a more productive and responsive public service. He urged all staff to embrace a culture of efficiency, integrity, and timely delivery.
