Royal Father Praises Nollywood for Enhancing Asaba Kingdom’s Image

Asaba: The Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge (SAN), expressed his satisfaction with the significant contributions of the Nollywood industry in enhancing and projecting the image of Asaba Kingdom to the global community. Azinge's remarks came during a visit by a delegation of actors and actresses, led by philanthropist Sonia Patterson, to his palace.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Azinge assured that his kingdom would persist in supporting the growth of the Nollywood industry, recognizing its potential to promote the culture and economy of the city. He reminisced about the community's past efforts in ensuring that the Film Village was established in Asaba, reflecting their dedication to backing the industry.

The royal father also revealed that plans are being made to acquire 350 acres of land for a California-based native of Asaba, who is a prominent figure in Hollywood, to replicate his industry in Asaba. He commended the creative talents of scriptwriters, actors, and actresses, acknowledging the skill required to bring stories to life.

In her address, Patterson shared her joy in contributing positively to the lives of children, the elderly, and the Nollywood industry without expecting anything in return. She highlighted her philanthropic endeavors in several cities, including Lagos, Owerri, Enugu, and Asaba, underscoring her commitment to spreading happiness.
