Rabat - Several political parties commended the Speech delivered by HM King Mohammed VI to the Parliament, at the opening of the 1st session of the fourth legislative year of the 11th legislature. In this respect, the Constitutional Union Party highlighted the major diplomatic achievements made under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI regarding the Moroccan Sahara issue, which 'led to a growing international support for Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara, the Autonomy Initiative and the just national cause.' In a press release, the political party stressed that 'the strong diplomatic momentum, under the far-sighted leadership of HM the King, complements the ongoing development momentum in the Kingdom's southern provinces and the large-scale strategic projects launched by the Sovereign, such as the Atlantic Initiative to give Sahel States access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Nigeria-Morocco pipeline project.' For its part, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) said the Royal Speech reaffirms that the Sahara issue is one of Morocco's key strategic priorities. The clear guidelines in the Royal Speech 'are meant for both the Parliament and the Government, the constitutional institutions, civil society, the Nation's driving forces and citizens both inside and outside the Kingdom,' PAM noted. On the same vein, the Party of Justice and Development (PJD) welcomed the Royal Speech, highlighting the 'considerable and continued efforts by Morocco, under the leadership of HM the King, to enshrine Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara and gain further support for the Autonomy Initiative within the framework of Morocco's sovereignty. The PJD expressed its strong and continued involvement alongside other driving forces, instances and national institutions, in the efforts to defend the first national cause for all Moroccans, as well as its commitment to foil all manoeuvers and harmful campaigns from the enemies of Morocco's territorial integrity.
