A 68-year-old Namibian female’s lifeless body was found in a bathtub full of water by her husband on Friday at a house in Hochlandpark.
A crime report of the Namibian Police Force on Sunday said the incident happened between 10h15 and 13h35, when the deceased was left alone at the house by her husband.
“It is alleged that, upon arrival back at the house at 13h35 the doors were locked, and he could not enter. He then called his daughter for a key and also collected the key at work, opened the door, called his wife, searched around the house, and finally found her in the bathtub full of water,” the report read.
Paramedics from E-Med Rescue were called and declared the victim dead on the scene. No foul play was suspected.
In another incident, a 31-year-old Namibian male suspect on Friday reportedly stole six goats valued at N.dollars 8 400 from a grazing area at the Omutomboli cattle post in the Omuntele area in the Oshikoto Region.
The police confirmed that the suspect drove the animals to Okwandja village, slaughtered one goat, and was found selling fresh meat at a cucashop.
All the stolen property was recovered, including the carcass, and the suspect was arrested to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In a similar incident, two suspects aged 16 and 19 allegedly removed a sheep valued at N.dollars 1 500 and slaughtered it without the owner’s consent on Saturday in the Aroab Village Council grazing field.
The suspects were arrested and the property was recovered. They were expected to appear in court on Monday.
Police investigations in all matters continue.
