Paris - On its journey to the Games' opening ceremony on July 26, the Olympic torch made a stopover on Monday at the Moroccan stand in the "Africa Station" fan zone, set up not far from the Olympic Village on Île-Saint-Denis in the Paris region. The Olympic torch was welcomed in a friendly atmosphere by the organisers of "Morocco House", several fans and Île-Saint-Denis' mayor Mohamed Gnabaly. "Morocco House" was inaugurated last Saturday in the center of the "Africa station" celebrations area dedicated to African culture and sport. Decorated as a caidal tent decked out in Morocco's national colours, it showcases a selection of Moroccan handicrafts, local products and gastronomic specialities. The "Africa station" fan zone will be open to the public until August 11 for broadcasts of the competitions, as well as events, concerts, shows, exhibitions and meetings with the athletes. On August 1st, the site will be alive with the rhythms of Moroccan music and culture, with the participation of numerous artist s from the Kingdom. Source: Agence Marocaine De Presse
