Lagos: The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has announced the appointment of Amb. Janet Olisa as Special Adviser on International Relations to its National President with effect from Oct. 6. Olisa is a retired Nigerian diplomat and public policy strategist with over 30 years of experience in diplomacy, national planning, and development.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Olisa played a role in shaping Nigeria's Medium-Term National Development Plans, managing multi-billion-Naira budgets, and aligning foreign policy with national growth priorities. As High Commissioner and Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she successfully fostered bilateral and multilateral partnerships, attracting foreign governments, investors, and stakeholders to strengthen cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and energy development.

Olisa also contributed to presidential transitions, policy reforms, and the optimisation of Nigeria's over 100 diplomatic missions globally. A recipient of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), Olisa is recognised for her strategic leadership and diplomacy that bridge foreign relations with economic policy to advance Nigeria's global standing and national development.

The National President of NACCIMA, Dr Jani Ibrahim, expressed confidence that Olisa's diplomatic experience and international network would strengthen NACCIMA's engagement with global partners and institutions. Ibrahim emphasised that her appointment aligns with NACCIMA's commitment to deepening international trade collaboration and supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda towards achieving Nigeria's one trillion dollars economy by 2030.

'NACCIMA warmly congratulates Ambassador Janet Olisa, OON, on her appointment and looks forward to her valuable contributions in advancing Nigeria's private sector interests across the global economic landscape,' he said.
