MoU Signed in Geneva to Strengthen Skills of Moroccan Diplomats

Geneva - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates and the University for Peace (UPEACE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday in Geneva to strengthen the skills of Moroccan diplomats. Signed on the Moroccan side by Hicham Rhazri, Director of Human Resources, and on the UPEACE side by David Fernandez Puyana, Permanent Observer Ambassador to the University for Peace, the document is in line with the Foreign Ministry's policy of diversifying its international partners, particularly in the field of diplomatic training. The agreement covers the development of joint training programs on issues of common interest. On the sidelines of the ceremony, Mr. Rhazri and Mr. Fernandez Puyana discussed the modalities and actions to implement the provisions of the MoU, particularly in the areas of training and capacity-building for Moroccan diplomats. On this occasion, UPEACE's Permanent Observer Ambassador highlighted Morocco's regional and international leadership on peace and security issues, as well as its world-renowned contributions to peacekeeping. Created in pursuance of UN General Assembly Resolution 35/55 in 1980, UPEACE has been training leaders for peace for the past four decades. It is a unique global academic institution with over 6,000 alumni hailing from more than 120 nations working for peace on a global scale. Source: Agence Marocaine De Presse
