Morocco’s Constant Support for Palestinian Cause Highlighted at 50th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Yaoundé

The Kingdom of Morocco's constant and ongoing support for the Palestinian cause was highlighted during the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held on August 29-30 in Yaoundé. In this regard, Palestine's representative to the OIC, Riyad Mansour, emphasized the importance of Morocco's support for the Palestinian cause under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, stressing that the Palestinian government and people highly appreciate the Kingdom's efforts to resolve the conflict. Expressing his gratitude for the various initiatives launched by the Sovereign for the Palestinian people, Mansour, who is also Palestine's ambassador to the United Nations, told MAP that Palestinians are aware Morocco's positive role in resolving this conflict, as well as Moroccans' solidarity with the Palestinian people. In this respect, he commended the various projects launched by the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty the King, for the be nefit the Holy City's population. The Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Salim M. Al Malik, stated that the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, remains among the great defenders of the Palestinian cause and one of the countries that could contribute to resolving this conflict. Al Malik recalled that HM King Mohammed VI's humanitarian initiative to deploy medical aid to the Palestinian population of Gaza reflects the importance the Sovereign attaches to this Arab issue. He also considered that Morocco's support for the Palestinian cause and the various projects and initiatives carried out by the Kingdom for the benefit of the Palestinian people represent an example of solidarity to be followed throughout the Arab world. The Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Koutoub Moustapha Sano, stated that the Kingdom's efforts and contributions to peace in the Middle East have always been "steadfast and uninterrupted," expressing confidence that this support will continue thanks to the wisdom and commitment of His Majesty the King, enabling Palestinians to live in peace, security and prosperity. Highlighting the Sovereign's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Sano said that Morocco has always supported the right of the Palestinian people to an independent State with East Al-Quds as its capital.
