Health Day: Bogodogo University Hospital cleaned for the health of patients and workers

As part of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Bogodogo (Ouagadougou) organized on Saturday, the 3rd edition of its sanitation day to make the working and living environment of agents and patients clean and safe. "The provision of quality care to patients goes hand in hand with the cleanliness of the hospital center's environment," declared the Director General (DG) of the Bogodogo University Hospital, Seydou Nombré. According to the DG, the 3rd health day, which is part of the national days of patriotic commitment and citizen participation, will make the CHU environment pleasant for both users and workers. Aware of the essential role of hospital environmental hygiene in the safety of patients and healthcare workers, staff, local residents, defense and security forces and traditional authorities mobilized for the success of the activity, indicated the DG. While welcoming the mobilization, Mr. Nombré hoped that the initiative would be continued and instilled in young people. The DG also called on staff and local residents to behave civically on a daily basis to avoid creating this waste, which will be disposed of far from the hospital. According to the director of quality, Dr Zacharie Wendpanga Kafando, the Bogodogo University Hospital has been committed to a quality approach since its opening in 2017. To do this, "his vision is to offer synergistic and humanized care centered on the person" he suggested. Environmental contamination in healthcare facilities plays a role in the transmission of healthcare-associated infections, Dr Kafando said , citing health sources. Therefore, he said that cleaning the environment is a fundamental intervention for the prevention and control of infections in this hospital center. His Majesty Yipelsé Naaba welcomed the initiative of the Bogodogo University Hospital which will help keep local residents and patients away from diseases caused by unsanitary conditions. He said he accepted to support the a ction because it brings people together by giving them the opportunity to get to know each other during the cleaning work.
