New York - Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, held a meeting on Tuesday in New York with the President of the Federation Internationale de Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, to review the progress of preparations for the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco is co-hosting with Spain and Portugal. Speaking to the press following the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Infantino expressed his delight at the projects underway in the various cities of the Kingdom, saying he was "sure that Morocco will be a magnificent host." In this respect, the FIFA President expressed his thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, "a football enthusiast, like all Moroccans," for everything He does "for our sport and for the sport of all Moroccans, football." "Following my talks, and as we know Morocco - a country of football- everything is ready," Infantino added, pointing out that the decision of the FIFA Congress regarding the 2030 World Cup is expected next December. "We a re going to welcome the World at home in Morocco. That's why we're already looking forward to it.
