Residents of sector no. 1 organized works of common interest to improve the accessibility of a street, this Saturday August 24, 2024 in Fada N'Gourma. In a surge of solidarity and cooperation, the residents of a street in sector no. 1, near the municipal grove, south C of the Saint-Joseph school, mobilized this weekend to carry out works of interest common to make their environment more accessible, especially during this period of heavy rain. The initiative started from a small group of local residents and residents, who joined forces to transform their environment. So, from the morning, the participants gathered with tools in hand, ready to give their street a facelift. One of the leaders of this initiative, Pierre Dayamba, declared that every time it rains, the street is not accessible to users. 'In the past, it was large trucks that passed on this street. So, we got together among local residents to see how to make this route more practical. This is how this initiative which brings us together this mo rning was born,' he said. To put this initiative into practice, they provided some with a tractor, a skip, shovels and picks were used for this service. Other residents contributed cash, which allowed them to have fuel. Young people provided the workforce. Pierre Dayamba invited all local residents to take an interest in this work for the sanitation of their living environment. To the municipality, he hoped that it would multiply their example in other sectors for a pleasant life for all. The initiative is a citizen act which demonstrates the desire of residents to take charge of their environment. Source: Burkina Information Agency
