Rabat - Morocco's Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), welcomed, on Wednesday, the national futsal team delegation at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. This meeting was held in anticipation of the team's participation in the Uzbekistan 2024 World Cup. During the gathering, Lekjaa extended his congratulations to the Atlas Lions for their impressive achievement of winning the Africa Cup of Nations for the third consecutive time. This triumph has secured their place in the upcoming World Cup, scheduled to take place from September 14 to October 6, as highlighted in the FRMF's official statement. Lekjaa used the occasion to encourage the team to represent Moroccan football with honor on the world stage. He also discussed the final stages of preparation for this fourth World Cup appearance, following their previous participations in Thailand 2012, Colombia 2016, and Lithuania 2020. The FRMF president underscored that the federation has committed extensive resources to ensure the success of the team, which has become a model of excellence. He emphasized the historical significance of reaching the World Cup finals, noting that such an experience is best understood by those who have lived it. With Morocco currently ranked 6th in the FIFA standings, Lekjaa stressed the importance of achieving positive results in this tournament.
