France-Africa: Ali Bongo paid five million dollars to Robert Bourgui in five years

The emblematic figure of France-Afrique, Robert Bourgui, claimed to have received one million US dollars per year, between 2009 and 2013 from the former Gabonese president Ali Bongo for his role as intermediary between Paris and Libreville. Robert Bourgui claimed that this money was paid into his professional bank account subject to taxes in France. He made these revelations on France 24 during the presentation of his book: "They know that I know everything. My life in France-Africa." For nearly 30 years, Mr. Bourgui served France-Afrique, a system maintained by the various French governments to maintain Paris' control over its former colonies in sub-Saharan Africa.
