There has been a deadly clash between NDC and NPP supporters after some NDC members saw that some equipment meant for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) equipment were branded with NPP logos and parked at the hotel of the NPP candidate. In an attempt to photograph the equipment, the NDC supporters were confronted, leading to a clash between the two groups, cititnewsroom.com reports. The local police initially responded but had to call for reinforcements from the regional command, which deployed the counter-terrorism unit to restore order. Among the injured supporters was the NPP constituency chairman, the report said Following the incident, some NPP supporters paraded the DRIP equipment through the main streets of Asesewa before taking it to the district assembly.
