Ouagadougou: The sixty-year-old El Hadj Salifou Ouedraogo, after having successfully planted more than 35,000 baobab trees, received 4 distinctions in 2024 which he wanted to present to the High Commissioner of the Banwa province Oumarou Sandwidi this Friday, September 13 in Solenzo. He was welcomed in the office of the High Commissioner accompanied by the Provincial Director of the Environment Rodrigue Ouedraogo as well as two elements of the departmental service of water and forests of Solenzo. In fact, in his village in Signonguin, located less than 20 km from Solenzo and in the South-West, he has re-greened several hectares with baobabs. All his efforts allowed him to be the champion of the tree of the year 2024. A check for 500,000f and 4 trophies were presented including the gold kuuri prize of the International Exhibition of Agriculture, Environment and Livestock, the prize of the International Tree Exhibition where he was crowned champion of the tree 2024. High Commissioner Oumarou Sandwidi congr atulated the efforts of the tree champion on behalf of the highest authorities in the country. The provincial environmental directorate that supports the tree owner in Banwa says it is honored by this welcome and encouragement from the High Commissioner of Banwa province.
