The next Africa-France summit will take place in the first quarter of 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya. This announcement was made by Presidents Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto during their meeting in New York, on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly. This summit, which marks a first in a non-French speaking country, reflects an evolution of French diplomacy on the continent. Since 1973, these summits have alternated between France and a French speaking African country, but Nairobi indicates a shift towards other partnerships. The themes discussed will include the climate challenge, environmental preservation, and reform of the international financial architecture. Source: Africa News Agency
