Morocco to Take Part in ISF Games Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024

Rabat - Morocco's national school team will be taking part from October 23 to 31 in the International School Gymnasiade Games organized by the International School Sports Federation (ISF) in Manama. In a press release, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports highlighted that this participation aligns with the special role assigned to school sports in the 2022-2026 roadmap, which prioritizes promoting openness and fostering citizenship. This sporting event is also an ideal opportunity to consolidate Morocco's position at international sporting events, develop the skills of champions who have won national school tournaments while enabling them to compete at international level, the press release added. The Moroccan delegation involves 89 participants, including 35 sportswomen and 36 sportsmen, winners of national school tournaments. Eight female and ten male athletes will participate in the athletics competitions, while 12 female and 11 male athletes will take part in the Taekwondo events , three female and three male athletes will represent Morocco in the Judo competitions, and six female and six male athletes will take part in the Karate events. Morocco's flag will be also defended by two athletes (a boy and a girl) in archery and two others in badminton (a boy and a girl). The Kingdom will also be represented by six sportswomen and six sportsmen in the orienteering competition. The Moroccan delegation seeks to reach higher levels and compete with countries that are participating with a large number of athletes, such as Brazil, Azerbaijan, the United States, Ukraine, Mexico and India. This participation is part of ongoing efforts by the ministry to promote school sports by running sports tournaments that enable pupils to develop and discover their talents.
