near Markoye, the Combatant Forces arrested Adama Oumarou, a fighter and bomber of the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (EIGS), during an operation that neutralized around twenty terrorists. The end of the road for Mr. Adama Oumarou, one of the key players in the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (EIGS), responsible for several terrorist attacks, cattle thefts and planting of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), which caused victims in the provinces of Séno, Oudalan and Yagha. Indeed, on October 10, 2024, in the vicinity of Markoye, the Combat Forces carried out an anti-terrorist operation which made it possible to neutralize him and around twenty other terrorists and to recover significant logistics. Adama Oumarou participated, on February 20, 2023, in the attack against the population and the detachment of Tin-Akoff He was among the attackers who ambushed a patrol of the Markoye military detachment in the village of Tadarayat on January 11, 2022. A year earlier, on February 18, 2021, Adama Oumarou and other EIGS terrorists intercepted trucks in Tadarayat (Markoye-Tokabangou axis) that had left Markoye for the Dolbèl market in Niger. Nine travelers were killed and vehicles were set on fire. Born in the commune of Markoye, engaged in terrorism for five years, Adama Oumarou is both a fighter and a bomb maker. His arrest constitutes a big catch for the Combatant Forces who are determinedly pursuing their missions of reconquering the national territory and restoring peace throughout Burkina Faso. It should be noted that three of Adama Oumarou's brothers were also involved in terrorist groups. Two of them were neutralized during an operation in Tin-Zoubaraten, in the commune of Markoye.
