Santiago - Cristina Orellana, member of the Board of Directors of the Latin America-Africa 21st Century Foundation in Chile, said that Morocco's achievements regarding the Sahara issue were the result of sustained efforts over the years by the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. 'We must recognize that Morocco's achievements are the result of efforts committed under the leadership of His Majesty the King for years' before international organizations and influential countries, Orellana told MAP in reaction to the speech HM King Mohammed VI has given to the Parliament. In this context, the former President of the Christian Democratic Party cited the positions in support of Morocco expressed by UN Security Council permanent members. Orellana particularly focused on France's support for Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara, recalling also similar decisions by the United States and above all Spain, 'a strategic ally in advancing the path to peace' in the region. She also highlighted the outspoken support from other countries in Europe, the Arab world, Africa and Latin America for Morocco's efforts to promote prosperity and peace in the region. The Chilean politician added that the Sovereign had stressed, in His speech, that the next stage requires the constant mobilization of all the Nation's vital forces, in order to continue defending the justness of the national cause.
