Rabat - On High Royal Instructions, the emergency aid payments of 2,500 dirhams to families whose homes were partially or totally collapsed following the Al-Haouz earthquake will be extended by five months, to allow families to completely rehabilitate their homes, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch said on Wednesday in Rabat. In a statement to the press following the 12th meeting of the inter-ministerial commission in charge of the reconstruction and rehabilitation program for disaster areas following the Al-Haouz earthquake, Akhannouch stressed that this decision comes at the end of the emergency aid payments operation, which had been set at 12 months, noting that the aim is to enable families to complete the rehabilitation of their homes in the best possible conditions. In this respect, the Head of Government called on families who had benefited from aid dedicated to homes damaged in the Al-Haouz earthquake to speed up the pace of construction works, noting that the reconstruction and rehabilitatation pr ogram was proceeding at a positive pace.
