Morocco Allocates Significant Resources to Restore Traffic in Flood-Affected Regions

Rabat - Significant resources have been urgently deployed by the Ministry of Equipment and Water to restore traffic following the floods and torrential rains that are pounding the southern regions of the kingdom. In a press release, the ministry said that its services have dispatched nearly 200 people and 96 earthmoving machines in the provinces and regions of Zagora, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Tata, Midelt, Taroudant, Guelmim-Assa Zag, Figuig and Chichaoua. According to the same source, 22 roads were reopened on Sunday at 3 p.m., including 4 national roads, 7 regional roads and 11 provincial roads, while works are still underway on 16 other roads still blocked by floods. Tata, which has been heavily affected, is receiving special attention and the intervention teams and resources have been reinforced, said the ministry, which continues to mobilize all the human resources and various equipment necessary to unblock traffic as quickly as possible on the various road sections.
