Rabat - A Moroccan parliamentary delegation on Tuesday kicked off a working visit to the Parliament of the Czech Republic. During this visit, the delegation from the House of Representatives' Thematic Working Group on Equity and Parity is expected to hold a series of meetings, particularly focused on women's participation in parliamentary action and the strengthening of their presence within the legislative institution and in decision-making positions at executive and representative levels, the Lower House said in a press release. In addition to expertise exchange with the Czech legislative institution, this visit will also be an opportunity to institutionalize cooperation and dialogue between parliamentarian women within the House of Representatives and at the various European national legislative institutions on themes linked to women and parliamentary and political action in general. On the first day of the visit, the Moroccan delegation held a meeting with Deputy Jirí Kobza, Chairman of the Moroccan-Cz ech Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Czech House of Representatives, in the presence of Moroccan Ambassador to Prague, Hanan Saadi, the same source added. On this occasion, Moroccan parliamentarians were introduced to some aspects of Czech parliamentary practice, particularly in the field of gender equity within the legislative institution, the same source noted, adding that the House of Representatives' delegation also took part in a plenary session at the Czech House of Representatives. During this visit, the Moroccan parliamentary delegation will also be meeting up with several political officials from the Czech House of Representatives, notably heads of standing and thematic committees, and of national sections within multilateral parliamentary organizations. This visit is part of the implementation of the institutional twinning project between the House of Representatives and seven European national parliaments (the French National Assembly, the Czech House of Representatives, the Belgian House o f Representatives and the national parliaments of Hungary, Italy, Greece and Portugal) funded by the European Union.
