Al-Quds - The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has welcomed HM King Mohammed VI's initiative and efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip through the deployment of a new humanitarian medical aid operation. The Palestine Red Crescent welcomes the initiatives of His Majesty the King and His sincere efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip through the deployment of a new humanitarian medical aid operation at this critical time when the few remaining hospitals in Gaza are suffering from a crying lack of medical products and medicines, Nebal Farsakh, PRCS spokesperson, told MAP on Monday. The shipment by the Kingdom of Morocco of 40 tons of medicines and medical products comes at a time when the medical sector in the Gaza Strip is on the verge of collapse due to the scarcity of medical products and medicines, especially after the occupier closed the Rafah land crossing more than 40 days ago, she said, noting that since this closure, no medical aid has been delivered. The aid from the Kingdom of Morocco will boost the performance of the few hospitals still operating in the Gaza Strip and improve their efficiency, allowing them to continue providing the health and medical services needed to save lives. Farsakh emphasized that the PRCS teams will transport aid to the Gaza Strip and then distribute it to medical service providers and public hospitals, including the Red Crescent hospitals in Khan Younès and Al Amal, as well as to medical points throughout the Strip. A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates stated that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Assist Him, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has given His Very High Instructions to deploy a humanitarian medical aid operation for the Palestinian population of Gaza.
