Lisbon - Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa lauded Morocco's achievements in economic development, modernization and political stability under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. 'Since His enthronement, HM King Mohammed VI has promoted Morocco's economic development, encouraged the country's administrative modernization and ensured its political stability,' stressed Rebelo de Sousa in a congratulatory message, on the occasion of the celebration by the Moroccan people of the 25th anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the Throne of His glorious ancestors. 'These elements, so fundamental in the uncertain world in which we live, deserve to be warmly welcomed', he noted. The Portuguese head of State also hailed the 'solid relations and deep friendship' binding Morocco and Portugal, noting that from their historical and geographical ties, the two countries 'have been able to build a mature and contemporary relationship that involves the institutions of both States, but also the two peoples'.
