Ouagadougou: The Maracana Jam Wari (peace is back) tournament, organized by the Appel du Sahel association, had its epilogue on Saturday August 10, 2024 in Dori, with the victory of Santos over the Pirakoukou by the score of 3 goals to 2 after the penalties. For their coronation, Santos received a trophy, three balls and the sum of 70,000 FCFA. The unsuccessful finalist team, Pirakoukou, was rewarded with two balls and the sum of 50,000 FCFA. As for the third team, Tottenham, they received a ball and the sum of 30,000 FCFA. According to the president of the organizing committee of this sports competition, Mr. Tamboura Boubacar, the tournament began on July 30, 2024 with 10 teams from the city of Dori. According to Mr. Tamboura, the tournament went smoothly. This is why he warmly thanked the teams for their spirit of fair play and the spectators for the discipline which reigned throughout the competition. For the president of the Regional Youth Council (CRJ) of the Sahel, also head of the Appel du Sahel a ssociation, Mr. Fayçal Maiga, this tournament aims to promote peace and social cohesion between all social strata in the region. Mr. Maiga expressed his gratitude to all the natural or legal persons whose various supports made it possible to organize this first edition. On behalf of the sponsors, the first vice-president of the special provincial delegation of Dori, Mr. Boureima Moussa Dicko, thanked the organizers of this unifying framework.
