ECJ Ruling: Czech Republic Reaffirms Commitment to ‘Close Ties’ with Morocco

Prague - The Czech Republic on Monday reaffirmed its commitment to 'close relations' with Morocco in all areas of the partnership between the Kingdom and the European Union (EU). Recalling the joint statement issued by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and EU High Representative Josep Borrell, following the decision of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) on the fisheries and agricultural agreements between the EU and Morocco, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed on its official X account that Prague 'confirms and underlines its commitment to close relations with Morocco in all areas of the Morocco-EU partnership.' The joint declaration, issued by the President of the European Commission and the EU High Representative, reaffirms the European bloc's commitment to further preserving and strengthening close relations with Morocco in all areas, in line with the 'pacta sunt servanda' principle. This declaration, a rare political act that underlines the importance of Morocc o and materializes the importance of the EU's partnership with the Kingdom, reiterates the 'great value' the EU attaches to 'its long-standing, broad and deep strategic partnership with Morocco.'
