Rabat - President of the Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation Abderrazzak El Aoud was elected head of the International Lifesaving Federation (FIS) West Africa region (North zone), at FIS general assembly held earlier in September in Gold Coast, Australia. El Aoud was also elected vice-president of the African Lifesaving Confederation at this assembly, marked also by general assemblies of the African Confederation and the African Lifesaving Academy, a press release from the Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation stated. According to the same source, Secretary General of the Royal Moroccan Lifesaving Federation Brahim Ben Zouina was appointed Secretary General of the African Lifesaving Academy. With regard to organizing the World Lifesaving Championship in Morocco, the press release noted that the Executive Board and members of the FIS General Assembly examined the bid to hold 2026 World Lifesaving Championship in Agadir, adding that Morocco's bid received the support of all the FIS General Assembly members.
