Rabat - The operation of reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Al Haouz earthquake-affected areas continues in a positive and serious climate, in accordance with the High directives of HM King Mohammed VI, Government Head Aziz Akhannouch said Monday in Rabat. The implementation of the various aspects of this program, in implementation of the High Royal Instructions, has recorded positive progress in several sectors and at several levels, Akhannouch told the press following the 11th meeting of the Inter-ministerial Commission in charge of the reconstruction and rehabilitation program of the areas affected by the Al-Haouz earthquake. "All the mobilized departments have worked continuously with seriousness and dynamism during this period," he underlined, stressing that the State has provided all the conditions to facilitate the reconstruction and rehabilitation of damaged houses, by offering families financial assistance, reconstruction permits and free technical assistance. In this regard, he reported on the progress of construction of 49,632 housing units, following the issuance of approximately 55,000 construction permits, while aid for the reconstruction of totally or partially collapsed housing units, amounting to 20,000 dirhams, reached the fourth instalment for families who have reached advanced stages in the reconstruction of their homes, which enabled 1,000 families to complete the reconstruction and rehabilitation works of their homes.
