The final of the second edition of the inter-sector tournament of the Regional Referees Commission (CRA) of Gaoua was played on Saturday August 17, 2024 on the field of schools A and B of Gaoua , with the victory of sector 4 against sector 3. Started on December 23, 2023 with the participation of the eight sectors of the city of Gaoua, the final of the 2nd edition of the inter-sector tournament of the Regional Commission of Arbitrators (CRA) of Gaoua reached its apotheosis on Saturday August 17, 2024 in Gaoua . Organized by the Regional Commission of Referees (CRA) of Gaoua, the final pitted two long-standing rival teams against each other: sector 4 against sector 3. After a quarter of an hour of observation, each team displayed their ambitions with attacks, which remained unsuccessful until the break. After the break, it was sector 3 which increased the offensives without however managing to find the net. The match ended with a goalless score. During the penalty shootout, sector 4 managed to score 5 sh ots against 4 for its opponent. The victorious team was rewarded with 40,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, and a ball. The unfortunate finalist received 30,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, and a ball. All participating teams received a ball. The president of the South-West Regional Referees Commission, Vincent De Paul Kambou, was delighted with the mobilization of the public and the spirit of fair play which prevailed throughout the tournament. 'I am overwhelmed given the enthusiasm our tournament has generated. The two finalists offered us a pleasant game, in fair play, and it is this beautiful atmosphere that we want to see between the athletes of Gaoua,' he declared. He also congratulated the sector 4 team, victorious in this edition. Furthermore, he thanked all the participating teams, as well as all those who contributed, directly or indirectly, to the success of the tournament. The president of the special delegation of the commune of Gaoua, Siaka Ouattara, chaired this ceremony. For him, this initiative to organize a tournament for the benefit of the young people of Gaoua is beneficial. 'We saw two teams involved, and that's normal since it was a final. Congratulations to the victorious team and all other participating teams,' he said, while emphasizing that there are neither losers nor winners.
