The Minister of Civil Service, Bassolma Bazié, announced the lifting of the suspension of planning and recruitment under new ordinary and special measures. In a circular dated August 8, 2024, it specifies that during the suspension, the government took the necessary measures to guarantee the right of access to public jobs, without any distinction, to any Burkinabè meeting the conditions required for each job applied for. . 'From now on, recruitment planning operations for new ordinary and special measures will be carried out by an interministerial commission created by the Head of Government,' added Bassolma Bazié. Mr. Bazié indicates that the suspension was decided in April 2022 due to certain shortcomings detrimental to the image of the public service noted in the implementation of this method of access to civil service jobs. As a reminder, in Burkina, certain ministries, in view of their particular or pressing needs, are authorized to recruit staff, outside the period of direct competitions, organized annually by the Minister of the Civil Service. But in recent years, recruitment based on new measures has often been criticized for its supposed lack of transparency and fairness. Source: Burkina Information Agency
