Minister Bensaid Holds Talks with Chinese Vice-Minister of Culture

Rabat - Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid and Chinese Vice-Minister of Culture and Tourism Rao Quan held talks, on Thursday in Rabat, on topics of strengthening cultural cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of China. During the talks, the two sides highlighted the positive momentum in relations between Morocco and China since the signing of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership, by HM King Mohammed VI and President Xi Jinping, during the Royal Visit to Beijing in May 2016, which demonstrates the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, says a statement by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication. Bensaid and Rao also discussed means of strengthening cultural cooperation and bringing the Moroccan and Chinese peoples closer through culture, given the history of relations uniting Morocco and China, in addition to mechanisms for implementing cultural cooperation as well establishing bilateral initiatives in the sectors of cinema, cultural industries and the video game industry, the same source adds. In this respect, the two ministers agreed on bilateral coordination in regional and international forums related to culture. Following these talks, the two parties signed the Executive Program for Cultural Cooperation 2024-2028, aimed at promoting cultural exchanges, encouraging bilateral visits and creating cooperation initiatives and frameworks. The program also covers strengthening of coordination and cooperation at the level of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the exchange of expertise and continuous training.
