Director-General of Maghreb Arab Press Agency (MAP), Fouad Arif, and CEO of Turkey's Anadolu Agency (AA), Serdar Karagöz, has discussed in Palermo (Italy) ways to consolidate cooperation relations between the two agencies. Both officials held talks on the sidelines of the 32nd General Assembly of the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN), held on June 5-6 in Palermo. The meeting focused in particular on exchanging news stories and photos between the two news agencies. The two parties also agreed to strengthen the exchange of experience and expertise, through organizing visits and training courses for journalists, executives, technicians and IT specialists. Arif and Karagöz agreed to renew the partnership agreement between the two agencies, with the signing of a new agreement in Rabat in the near future. MAP Director-General took part in AMAN's 32nd General Assembly, alongside the managing directors and representatives of the Alliance's member news agencies. The Assembly was marked by a confere nce under the theme 'Energy and tourism for sustainable growth in the Mediterranean', which provided an opportunity for participants to highlight the contribution of AMAN member news agencies in promoting this theme.
